The Secret of the Old Japanese Shrine
Concept & Modeling
This video is my first vfx portfolio that I made because I like Japanese culture and nature. This concept briefly explains the journey to Japan's hidden shrine, which are harmonized with nature.
First, we gathered various live-action references to express old shrines in Japan.
Among them, I chose a shrine I liked and modeled it as similar as possible. Then, referring to the reference, various wood materials were mixed to texture the feeling of the old shrine.
Lighting
In order to express the old and hidden shrine of the lush forest, the environment was also made similar to the real environment and lighting was given.
Scene
-Scene 01-
This scene is a scene where you go to the shrine by boat, and it creates the atmosphere of the lake before the morning is completely here.
The trees were made using speedtree and max trees.
-Scene 02-
This scene is a mineral spring scene I met while climbing the mountain, and the background is composed using megascan data, and the contrast of light is strongly expressed.
-Scene 03-
This scene is a scene that expresses Japanese Wind Chime(furin) with two light and glare effects.
-Scene 04-
For the texture, a pattern was drawn with Photoshop and mixed with glass material using vrayblendmtl.
-Scene 05-
This is the view of the secret shrine in the morning, the end of the journey. It was illuminated with Sun & Sky, and the effect was maximized using a lens flare.
After setting the camera composition, the modeling was placed, and the background was constructed.
